Our Story
For over a century, the Cuttyhunk Fishing Club has welcomed travelers seeking the rarest of experiences: a place that refuses to hurry. What began as a modest gathering spot for anglers has grown into one of the Elizabeth Islands' most cherished addresses — without losing the simplicity that makes it special.
Our rooms overlook the harbor and the distant line of the Atlantic. Mornings begin with fog lifting off the water. Evenings end with the sound of bells from passing boats. We don't manage expectations here — we protect the rhythm of the island.
Accommodations
Each room is furnished with the quiet honesty of island living — comfortable, unpretentious, and oriented toward the view outside your window.
Facing the dock, this room catches the morning light and the sound of the ferry arriving. Double bed with linens sourced from a New England mill.
Set above the club's salt-tended garden, this suite offers a sitting area and a queen bed dressed in crisp cotton. Quiet, but close to the common rooms.
Our smallest and most atmospheric room — sloped ceilings, bay windows, and a single bed that feels like sleeping inside a lighthouse keeper's quarters.
What to do
Our steps drop directly onto the dock. Walk out to the end, dip your hands in water that has not touched a road, and watch the light change.
A network of footpaths circles the island — through oak hedgerows, along bluffs, and past the old lighthouse. Bring sturdy shoes and leave the hurry at home.
Dinner is communal at the club table — a tradition we keep alive. Guests share stories, tides, and the day's catch. Reservations recommended for evening meals.
Finding us
The island is reached by ferry from Woods Hole or by private boat. Once you arrive, everything is within a short walk — including us.
